Hypothesis

Hypothesis #1:
In my opinion normalization is established through
problem solving and decision making.
I feel that experiential knowledge is an essential part of ones
perception of normal behavior.
Experience is ones personal frame of reference for
negotiating the present moment, as well as the future

Hypothesis #2:
I feel that information is often used for the short term gain of a few
so as to take advantage of many.
I feel that important possibilities for the betterment of many
are purposely avoided for the sole purpose of accumulating monetary wealth.
I do not feel this can be a healthy approach.
Using proven models for binding and controlling masses of people
so to forecast profit is criminal.
In such terms success is measured in monetary terms.
In many societies the desire for financial profit
precedes the desire to sustain other important balances
such as, environmental issues and health issues.
Both of which are unavoidable to human beings.

Hypothesis #3:
For many low-income individuals and families a sense of time is ambiguous.
Change is inevitable and largely uncontrollable.
The concept of normal behavior requires some understanding of consistencies and
inconsistencies regarding ones immediate surroundings.
A foundation for understanding transient events and experiences are more clearly
manifest when individuals have some control over the changes at hand.
For many low-income individuals, time is an abstraction,
offering no useful agendas for bettering ones condition.
Without an adequate agenda for navigating the future,
A person is left with a feeling of inadequacy.

Hypothesis #4:
The nature of human development is the pattern of change that begins at conception
and continues through the lifespan.
The pattern of development is complex.
It is the product of several processes,
namely, biological, cognitive , and socio-emotional.
Biological development involves individuals physical nature,
such as, inherited genes and brain development.
Cognitive development involves changes in an individuals thought, intelligence,
language, and perception.
Socio-emotional development involves changes in an individuals relations with others,
their emotions and their personality.
The studying of human beings in a scientific way offers possibilities to better
understand developmental stages of human beings.
To what end this information is used determines what form of profit it will yield.
